I am trained as a systemic therapist and one of my core beliefs is that symptoms and behaviors make sense within their respective context. I strive to sit alongside my clients as we examine the pieces of their life and decide where to go from there. It is your life, and I am here to help you bring it to fruition in the way that you desire! My hope is that my clients leave our work together and live a life that feels more authentic and spacious for them.
Before I found my own path as a therapist, I had a previous career working in both start up and corporate environments in New York City. I know how hectic and rife with expectation personal and professional life can be. I also know how overwhelming it can feel to make the kind of change you crave happen. I am thrilled to be a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, working toward full licensure within the state of Florida.
In this era of hyperconnectivity many of us are left, ironically, feeling more disconnected than ever. Many of the social spaces we occupy can leave us feeling as though there is little actual space to speak vulnerability about our hopes, dreams, sorrows, and disappointments.
I work from a Solution Focused Brief Therapy perspective, which seeks to uncover overlooked strengths and amplifies what is working for you. I believe that each client is rich in their own resources and ability to problem solve. Sometimes one simply needs the assistance of an additional perspective to solve a problem. I also blend in elements of Narrative therapy, which seek to interrogate how your society, culture, and family of origin have shaped your identity. Together we can rewrite the story you want, not the one you inherited.
